The first half of 2025 saw a huge jump in air source heat pump installations across England and Wales, fuelled by the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
According to official figures, more than 19,000 BUS vouchers were issued for air source heat pumps between January and June — the highest six-month total since the scheme began. June alone saw a record 3,676 applications, showing that more homeowners than ever are making the switch to low-carbon heating.

- Regulation changes – The upcoming Future Homes Standard will ban gas boilers in new builds from 2027, raising awareness of heat pumps.
- Installer confidence – More MCS-certified installers (like us) are now offering the BUS application as a hassle-free service.
